In the production of stiffening leg mounting that has a lengh dimension of 414 [mm], a width of 100 [mm] and a thickness of 12 [mm] at PT Bukaka Teknik Utama of Steel Tower Business Unit, there is an ineffective and inefficient process. This is because still through some machining process that is done separately, that is process of shearing, piercing, marking and bending. Each process is relatively far away and requires the use of material handling so that it will increase the risk of workplace accidents and production costs. One of the solutions offered is to modify a 6000 [ton] press bending machine into a progressive tool. Progressive tool is one type of press tool with multi-station system where the sequence of press process is made on that press tool. Progressive tool is chosen because it is able to perform all the required process when making the product in one step that includes the process of piercing, marking, shearing and bending. In the process of making progressive tools, costs are certainly required so that calculation of estimated manufacturing cost is also required. Estimated manufacturing cost is the cost calculation required to make a tool or product that includes production cost and non production cost. At production cost there is calculation of material and machining process, while at non production cost there is calculation of overhead cost, safety cost, and profit. This research produces a progressive tool stiffening leg mounting design that has three stations for four main processes, that is process of piercing, marking, shearing and bending so it can make the production process more effective and efficient. The Progressive tool uses a hydraulic press machine with a capacity of 6000 [Ton] and is used as reference for base plate and upper plate progressive tool. The Progressive tool has a length dimension of 1600 [mm], a width of 220 [mm], and a height of 332 [mm].
