The manufacturing industry has some various production processes that are interrelated to each other. The product must be moved on time to get the expected result. But often found the problem in the material handling, it caused by some materials handling process are still manually. Based on the problems that occurred at PT. X there is some problem in the material handling from the painting process area to the assembly process area that done by manually, it's done by 8 workers in 1 shift, requiring long moving time to 300 [second], and have the high risk of a work accident. Moving distance of trolley up to 45.000 [cm] or 45 [m] with the maximum load weight 5 [ton]. So, to reduce the number of worker and the potential of accidents, and to increase the accelerate, required conveyor that serves to push trolley from the painting area to the assembly area and has load up to 5 [ton]. In the implementation, some methods are done by problem identification in the workshop, study literature, create concept design, analysis and design calculation, fabrication and tool testing. The conveyor needs an AC electric motors with 1 [HP] of power that can drive a conveyor at 9 [m / min] of speed. The transmissions used are chains and sprockets that mounted on the conveyor frame. The push tool is designed to have a strong flexible arm to push the carry trolley and rotatable, it will swinging when doing the motion back so it is not to hold back by the trolley behind it. The result of the design is a push conveyor for 5 ton trolley that can increase productivity in PT.X faster, safer and requires only one worker with the help of a simple automation system.
