Abstract


Packaging is the most important things according the food industries. Without a good packaging consumers will not trust with its higienity and esthetic side from the products. Manufacturing the packaging by themselves also have good effect to mid-small industry especially in working effecctivity. The point in this research is to build vacuum forming machine using otomation system. Main focus in this research are control system can controlled the heating system, vacuum system, and motion system. Software that used in this research is Arduino Mega 2560 with temperature sensor to control the temperature and limit switch for motion control. Motion system will move the plastic to heating system, after a few minutes motion system will get down the plastic to mold in vacuum chamber. Vacuum chamber will turned on to decrease the pressure in vacuum chamber, so the plastic will press the mold and we have the plastic result is like the modl that used to form the plastic. The result form this design are: (1) the result formse-point testing used ini Vacuum Forming machine with on-off control using power switching methods if using more than 1 heater. (2) motion system using motor stepper. (3) Motor stepper motion time are 6,61 s.
