Safety is one of the targets in all industry, which is for the worker, equipment or environment. Which one way to improve the safety is with improving the equipment by redesigning it to gain the best safety factor. The highest hazard in under Gas Conditioning Tower area PT Holcim Indonesia Cilacap Plant is hot dust that flows from inlet Raw Mill duct to Electronic Precipitator. The previous method is using the rotating valve to push/pull the dumper to flow the hot dust to dust bunker that is counted as high hazard activity for the worker. Considering that case, to reduce the hazard, they need to improve the rotating valve with other method that still gives the worker ability to control the damper in a safer area. To do that we, offer the Slide Gate method that applies pneumatic cylinder to pull/push the damper. With the new method, we hope it can reduce the hazard on the under Gas Conditioning Tower area. With the Slide Gate method, the worker only needs to control the manual lever directional valve which is installed 7 meter away from the chain conveyor that will control the damper in open/close position, but the worker still can watch the equipment directly. The other advantages investing in this method are the material can move quickly so it can give lower load to the equipment chain conveyor and fast movement of material can reducing the hot dust material in the environment.
